Tutus & Bow Ties Party

May 17, 2012 - 6:42 am

My daughter turned 3 just a couple weeks ago. You may have seen some of these pictures last week on Pizzazzerie. If you missed them, here they are, plus a few more. Wow, it seems like I was just planning her 2nd Birthday Party, time does pass so quickly! Karidyn LOVES wearing a tutu every.single.day. so when it came to a party theme this year, it was an easy decision to do a tutu party. What is fun about this party theme is that it is more of a dress up party and less of a dance class party. I know that when she starts taking ballet, she will want a “real” ballet party, so that’s when we will go all out with a ballet instructor, etc. but this is more of a fun playful party for all the girls and the little boys. Since she has several little boy friends, we didn’t want to leave them out, so we added the adorable bow ties to make the theme just perfect for her and her friends! Here are some of my favorite pictures from the party:

Thanks for letting me share all the party pictures!

I was wondering where you found the fabric for the bow ties and roses or if you knew the name of the fabric. My sister is pregnant and has chosen a color scheme like this. I would love to show her this fabric to see if she likes it and would want the bedding made from this. It is just beautiful!

How did you make the backdrop and the ruffle around the jars?

      Hi Steph,

The backdrop is actually a jersey type fabric that I picked up that actually is already ruffled. I’ve seen it in a couple of my local craft stores, but I purchased it from Hobby Lobby. The ruffles around the jars are crepe paper streamers sewn with a loose stitch down the center and then I pulled one string to ruffle. Hope this helps!
