Shall Supply

This week for me was one of those weeks that really make you thankful for the important things in your life. For me, I was reminded immediately of this verse above when Tuesday of this week came along. You may remember that on a personal standpoint, we were praying and waiting for answers (and we had been doing so for about a year). We started feeling like they were coming soon and here we are exactly one month later and they are. For me, my belief in God and his omniscience and perfect plan for my family and our lives is what gives me peace in knowing that we are headed in the right direction. I’m sorry I have to be so vague, but I can’t share exactly what it is – I just want you to know that if you are in the same boat as our family – trying to find answers and direction, they don’t always come the easy way, but if you trust and wait, they do come.

This reminds me of a song from when I was a child:

Have patience, have patience, don’t be in such a hurry
When you get impatient, you only start to worry.
Remember, remember that God is patient too,
And think of all the times when others have to wait for you.

I used to think I was patient until I had a child, then I learned I am in fact not patient especially because she has started to sing the song to me when she is buckling herself up in the car. Aparently, I have rushed her way too many times.

Good things come to those who wait.

DIY Sprinkle Ice Cream Cones

There are three things I really love: sprinkles, chocolate and ice cream. Put them all together and I’d say you have one winning combination! If you saw our 4th of July Party on Monday, then you may remember the oh so yummy sprinkle ice cream cones. Well, I wanted to share this quick tutorial to do them yourself.

Sprinkle Ice Cream Cones

Here are the supplies you will need:

Ice Cream Cones
White Chocolates {I like to buy mine from a bakery supply store or a craft store vs. “Almond Bark” – my Almond Bark always gets clumpy!}
Sprinkles in a Bowl
Wax Paper
Double Boiler

Add your white chocolates to your double boiler on medium heat. I use a Pampered Chef Double Boiler on top of my pan, but you can always stack two pans and put water in the bottom one. Just be careful with them and also make sure the water doesn’t touch the bottom of the top pan.

Stir your chocolates.

Continue to stir until they are nice and smooth.

Then dip the top edge of the cone in the white chocolate.

Then quickly dip the top of the cone in your sprinkles. These were for the 4th of July, so we used red, white and blue, but you could always change the color of the white chocolate and use any color of sprinkles! You may need to “roll” the cone a little to make sure all the white chocolate is covered.

That’s it! Now you have a super cute cone that adds an extra yummy treat!

They need to dry, so the cones with a pointy end need to stand up (I used a small juice cup). The regular cones with the flat bottom can stand up on their own on the wax paper.

Have a great day!

4th of July Party

Yes, July 4th is coming very soon! If you are thinking of planning a party or small gathering of friends, we have some great new 4th of July themed party goods. This party is filled with red, white and blue with a touch of aqua to make it even more fun! This is a great theme for a birthday party or in this party, a fun ice cream social!

::Party Details::

This is a simple ice cream & desserts party. Ice cream & drinks were served on ice in a Radio Flyer wagon. You may remember my daughter’s 3rd birthday party where we put ice cream in small mason canning jars. This works great for ice cream in single servings for easy serving. Also, we had ice cream cones dipped in white chocolate with sprinkles {yummy!} Vanilla cupcakes with buttercream icing were also served. We made yarn pom “fireworks” to hang from fishing line around the party on bamboo poles. {We are limited on trees in the yard where the photos were taken, so we used the bamboo poles. If you have trees around the area where your party will be, I would recommend hanging the pom fireworks from the trees.} Oh, and a cute party favor… ring pops for the kids – “Let Freedom Ring!”

::Party Goods:: {find them all on this page on our website}

Invitations (or another polka dot version)

2″ Round Stickers

Cupcake Toppers

Cupcake Wrappers

Water Bottle Labels

Stripey Red Straws & Stripey Aqua Straws

Red Polka Dot Balloons

Ribbon Hobby Lobby

Hope you have a great day! We’ll have some DIY tutorials coming soon on the dipped cones and the yarn pom fireworks!
