A Sweet Thank You

I just wanted to share this super sweet thank you note I received when I opened an envelope with a payment for invitations.  Gehrig turned two and he had a tool party!  We hope we can share some of the photos soon.  It was such a cute theme for a little boy’s party.  Thank you, Gehrig, for the sweet note.  It made my day.

How a simple gesture made such a big impact on me!  I recently found the quote:  “We judge ourselves by our intentions and others by their behavior.” How interesting and true.  I find myself often thinking: “I should send her a get well card… a thinking of you card… or I should call her”, but because of how busy our lives are we tend to put it off until it is too late.  How quickly those thoughts turn to “I should have done this or that”, while all along that person or persons never knew we were thinking of them.  We may consider ourselves a thoughtful person, but if we never put our thoughts into action, how thoughtful are we?  People only know who we are by our actions.  Just a thought from me while I sit here ready to write a long-overdue note to a friend.

Hope you have a great day!

Willing to Lead

Hello Everyone!  We got back Sunday night from a leadership seminar we do every year in May.  It’s called Hugh O’ Brian Youth Leadership.  It was started by actor Hugh O’Brian.  In the 1950′s, he played the starring role of Wyatt Earp in the Life and Legend of Wyatt Earp.  HOBY is held every year in each state in the U.S. and around the world.  We volunteer at the Alabama site.  Up to three high school sophomores from each high school in Alabama can attend as ambassadors for their schools.  With almost 300 students, Alabama has the largest HOBY site in the world.  We had so much fun and we hope the ambassadors learned a lot about being a leader in their schools, community and world.

HOBY Group 2010

I had the chance to do the cover design for the program book and the
back of the t-shirt for the staff who are under 21 years of age.

{the shirt design}

{Here’s the shirt… it’s super bright… they had to stand out!}

If you know of an incoming high school sophomore, please let them know about HOBY and send them to the Alabama HOBY website or contact us for more information about the program.  We would love to have your child attend next year!  It will change their life.  It changed mine.

Thanks for stopping by.  We have a super cute party to show you this week!
